Meet the producer: Terre Rosse Vallania

Energy and enthusiasm. Passion and will. 50 years in two, here are Giulio and Enrico, the new owners of this historical winery.

Terre Rosse was born in 1964 from the passion of Enrico Vallania, who saw the great potential of these hills. The name Terre Rosse (red soils), comes from the red clays on which the vineyards are grown.

From his travels to France Enrico brought vines and clones, from which he obtained grapes which he began to vinify with cutting-edge techniques for the time.

The winery was run by the Vallania family until 2020, when it was taken over by two young winemakers who started renewing and modernizing it with great dedication.

Enrico, 24, and Giulio, 26, are now amongst the youngest winemakers of the area, have big plans, but don't want to run, conscious that they have to preserve the house style and the tradition and slowly melt into their own vision.

Today the company covers 22 hectares of vineyards, where Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Pignoletto, Merlot and Cabernet sauvignon vineyards are planted.

  • Sparkling Perditempo 2020: The fresh right wine for your summer meals, either you are relaxing by the sea or you are having a lunch break in town. Sparkling Pignoletto refermented in bottle, typical wine of Colli Bolognesi, fresh and fragrant. Vinified in steel only, it ages for at least 8 months in a bottle, before it is “dégorgé à la volée”.

  • Vite Piccola 2020: Asimmetrycal. Vegetal aromas of tomato leaf and asparagus, this wine surprises you with a smooth and elegant mouthfeel that reminds the Loire valley. From a selection of French clones, comes a fresh and fragrant Sauvignon blanc but still with its own identity. The sapidity is combined with the freshness of the aromas given by a vinification in steel only.
