A dream made true, a passion made real.

This is the story of Alberto Zini in the world of winemaking. Enterpreneur, he still runs his electrical plants sytems company, that occupies the most part of his day, but always finds the time to take care of this young creature, the Tenuta la Riva winery.

13 hectares of vineyards, where both local and international varieties are grown, though the autochtonous grapes, such as the white Pignoletto and Trebbiano Modenese and the black Barbera are the leading actors.

50.000 bottles produces, half of which sparkling, only bottle re-fermented, organic certified.

As a matter of fact, Alberto's always aimed to producing great sparkling wines in the Colli Bolognesi wine area, a dream that has finally come true, in only ten years from the first vintage, that dates 2013.

A dream that keeps on being carried on with always growing passion, a project that still is developing and will reserve many beautiful surprises in the years to come.

  • Pinus Laetus spumate 2016: Wine obtained from Pignoletto (Grechetto Gentile) grapes. The king grape of the Bolognese Hills, vinified in an elegant and refined way, ideal for any type of celebration and as an accompaniment to aperitifs. The wine has a golden yellow color of medium intensity, very fine and very persistent perlage. The aromas recall ripe yellow fruit with marked citrus notes, accompanied by the typical hints given by the long rest on the yeasts, bread crust and pastry. In the mouth it has a good freshness that guarantees easy drinking. Also available in the rifermentato frizzante version, bottle re-fermented through unfermented must addition. Fresher and carefree, suitable for every moment of thirst.

  • Farné VIII 2014: Noble vine in the production of traditional balsamic vinegar of Modena, Trebbiano Modenese, it offers truly amazing results vinified through the classic method. An exceptional freshness, worthy of being paired with a classy dish like oysters. The wine has a straw yellow color of medium intensity, very fine and very persistent perlage. • L'Aurora rosé 2020: Maybe my favourtie one, a rosé from Barbera grapes that passed through the same process as the other spumante, except for the skin-contact quick maceration. The wine has an onion skin color, very fine and persistent perlage. Fruity sparkling wine with a marked freshness, suitable to accompany all types of aperitifs. Perfect at any time of day, a wine that would be great to have on the beach.

  • Gherardo Barbera Riserva 2016: The most traditional red grape variety of the Bolognesi Hills, in its reserve version. A rich, full and warm wine, from very ripe grapes, of a beautiful intensity, but equally pleasant. Still fresh and tannically rich, it can be left in the cellar for a little while longer. Ideal to accompany complex and intense meat dishes. The wine has an intense ruby red color. The aromas recall very ripe red fruit, pungent notes of spices, tobacco, with hints of withering.
